What is Blue John stone ?

Blue John Stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral found at only one location in the world – in the caves of Treak Cliff Hill, Castleton, Derbyshire. It is considered Britain’s rarest mineral since the majority of Blue John mines are now extinct, with only a few small veins and nodules of the gemstone remaining. Blue John is a fluorite semi-precious mineral ranging from purplish-blue through to yellow. Despite numerous tests and analyses the origins of the colour has not been discovered.

Avoid contact with silver or gold cleaning solutions, perfumes, and hairspray, etc and it should not be worn when swimming or washing.
