Something to know about the maker/designer Marsha Breslow :
“What are the odds that a street crafts seller will make it to Cartier? Probably hundreds of thousands to one. But Marsha Breslow made it. Her designs are not only in Cartier, but also have a corner of their own that just opened yesterday in Bloomingdale’s fine jewelry department. And they are turning up at a lot of stores around the country, for a business that has done over $4 million so far this year.”

Something to know about Iolite stones :
Iolite is named after the Greek word “ios,” meaning violet. The rich purple-y to blue hues of iolite earned this gemstone the nickname of water sapphire. Only officially named in 1912, iolite still was loved and valued by cultures throughout history. In folklore legends, Iolite is sometimes referred to as the Viking’s compass. It’s said that thin slices of iolite served as glare-reducers and polarizing filters that helped ancient Viking navigators locate the sun on cloudy days. This allowed the Nordic mariners to pinpoint their own location on the seas.
